Russell G. Campbell has a very clear wish: failed politicians should fade away and shut up.
Case in point: former Liberal prime minister Paul Martin, who’s taken it upon himself to criticize Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s handling of the First Nations file.
Former PM Paul Martin
As Campbell explains, Martin was an able finance minister, but as a PM he was a failure, caring more about shaping the “truth”, as he perceived it (after drinking sixteen cups of coffee a day), than actually working for the truth.
Campbell also picks up on an interesting quote by another blogger whose words reflect precisely the kind of truth that Martin would have done well to observe:
First Nations issues should cross party lines, solutions not scoring political points should be the end game.
Indeed.
